170% increase in loans granted to women entrepreneurs,
and a record year in eco-responsibility

Gatineau, June 10, 2024 – The SADC de Papineau-Collines, an organization dedicated to the economic development of the region, reveals the results of its 2023-2024 activities. Over the past year, more than $1.2 million in loans were invested to support the start-up, growth, and transfer of local businesses. As the SADC enters its 40th year of existence, these investments bring the financial support provided to our small businesses since 1984 to $40 million.

In addition to financial support, our advisors have invested over 1,000 hours in personalized coaching to help our businesses improve their practices and increase their competitiveness. Driven by the desire to promote young entrepreneurs, true pillars of the future of our region, our team has also committed to implementing regional projects such as the Défi OSEntreprendre Outaouais. This flagship project highlights entrepreneurial initiatives of young people and stimulates the entrepreneurial culture at the provincial level.

Quote from Mélissa Bergeron, General Manager:

“As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the SADC de Papineau-Collines, we are proud of the lasting impact we have had on the economic development of our region. Among the players in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, few can claim such longevity, which demonstrates the relevance and effectiveness of our organization for local businesses.

We are particularly enthusiastic about continuing to focus on young entrepreneurs, who represent the future of our regional economy. Moreover, we are thrilled to see the strong growth in our support for women entrepreneurs this year. This remarkable increase highlights the importance of the role that women business leaders play in our territory, and we are delighted to support this positive dynamic.”
