Supporting Mulgrave-and-Derry with its multifunctional building project

Support for the municipality of Mulgrave-et-Derry in the search of funding for its multifunctional building project

The municipality of Mulgrave-et-Derry is considering the construction of a multifunctional building dedicated to community activities, which would also house the administrative offices of the town hall. This new space, which would be located near the new garage, would centralize services and become a gathering place for. It would also meet Net Zero Energy (NZE) standards, that is, it would produce as much energy as it consumes through the use of solar panels and geothermal energy.

The municipality entrusted the SADC for aid in the search for funding and assistance in planning this major project. Through their support services for the strategic development of communities, project manager Valérie Patoine provides support to municipalities of the region with strategic planning and grant applications.

A meeting of the federal deputy, Stéphane Lauzon, the mayor of Mulgrave-et-Derry, Michael Kane and municipal councillor, Marcel Beaubien, confirmed that the project could benefit from a subsidy under the bilateral agreement signed between the two levels of government, whereas, an initial public consultation in the presence of the SADC Papineau-Collines and the firm A4 Architecture + Design, made it possible to address certain concerns of citizens.
